Before There Was Skin will be premiered by the Western Sydney Symphony Orchestra for the Hills Orange Blossom Festival, Sydney. An original arrangement of Olivia’s electronic piece ::Original Home:: released on the 2022 album ::mxm:: this work continues Olivia’s exploration of motherhood and identity, particularly noting the peculiarity of recalling a time “before there was skin” separating one human from another, and the prospect of physical separation from those humans in our lives who represent moveable yet immoveable home.
